Darn. I had hoped it was accelerated - I seem to remember reading reports
of it being accelerated under Linux and assumed that applied to other
platforms that use XFree. I see that Linux and FreeBSD can both use afbinit
to load Sun microcode into the Elite3D and Creator3D and enable 
acceleration - not sure if that makes any difference?
