NetBSD can use the card, regardless of the instaled firmware. You need
the firmware only for booting. If booting from this SCSI card is your
intention it may be easier to get a NCR / Symbios based card of ebay for
less then 10 US$ / EUR. A card based on a 53C8xx chip (see esiop(4)) is
supported by the main board firmware for booting. The 53C8xx card does
not need a special firmware like Adaptec and works at least as good as
an Adaptec.
