good idea. does OF support this kind of 'fallback boot device'? never 
tried...

at the moment i think it'd be best to use a CF card (on an CF to IDE 
adaptor) for booting because this should provice maximum availibility 
(no moving parts, etc.).

but i'm very interested in your idea, is there some tweaking necessary 
in OF to do this?
