Sad but true... atleast you're using an AMD and not an Intel.  SMP is important, very important, it needs to be worked on.

When it comes to replacing my servers, yes, SMP is very important. I already
have Solaris 8 and one Solaris 2.6 box on my network, that is my only other
choice for my network besides NetBSD. 

However, an Ultra box with fvwm, mozilla, and openoffice could replace the
AMD Thunderbird that I'm sitting in front of. A box that has enough fans to
almost become airborne just keeping it down to a sane temperature.
