If you can reinstall the raid content, I'd suggest that you use dd to
transfer ~1 MB of /dev/zero to the beginning of that partition before
setting up the raid. Maybe someone can do the correct math and tell you
which single block realy needs to be zeroed. Maybe someone with a spare
disk speaking forth could fix the bootblk - if that someone needs more
details, contact me off-list ;-)

See GENERIC32 and look for UDMA. You need to add some flags - AFAIK Manuel
Boyuer is working on a real fix for this problem.
