(a) that's heavily Linux-specific, (b) that's heavily x86-specific, and
(c) these crashes aren't happening randomly. It's happened twice,
three times I think but don't have evidence for the third, on exactly
the same file out of a multi-hour build. It has happened four times in
a row when I execute that command by hand in that directory, and before
the last attempt I even ran "find /usr/src -type f -print0 | xargs -0
cat > /dev/null" to help clear out caches. And before the first
by-hand attempt the machine had been sitting idle for at least half an
hour or so.
I've supped release-1-6 instead of HEAD, now, and I'm going to be
trying that source tree.
