| I'm thinking to use netbsd on a ultra2.
| Now i'm wondering if it's stable enough to be used in a production
| environment.
| For example:
|
| 1) Can i use the packages from pkgsrc ( i need perl+mod,apache,snmp,...)
| 2) Vlans works?
| 3) What about toolchain.Is it usable?
|
| What do you suggest?

It really depends on what you're planning on doing. The major issues are
related to the compiler. C++ and floating point code generation is just
plain broken. Since lots of packages from pkgsrc are either in C++ or make
use of floating point, they don't work too well. Others are not 64-bit
clean.

On the other hand, the kernel's pretty solid and does not lock up like
x86 does.
