I tried, but I can't find this directory neither i the 1.4.2 [0]tree,
nor in NetBSD-current[1]. Am I stupid, blind, or both?

I (or technically, "find") can't find this file anywhere in the
-current source-tree. I must be missing something here, and seek
enlightenment. :-)

[0] ...NetBSD-1.4.2/source/sets/*.tgz
[1] ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-current/tar_files/gnu.tar.gz,
    and it's not in -current/src/gnu/dist either.[2]
[2] ditto for 1.4.2 and respective tarballs.
