Indeed, openssl is a quite crucial dependency - right now on 8.2 several packages do not upgrade or don't work even if upgraded (perhaps because upgade was partial?) because of openssl.

On 9.0 however they do work, maybe they use the system SSL, on 8.2 the one from packages.
But then the question is: how did the system one build fine on 9.0? Perhaps it has fixes that can be imported!
