All,

 

I was using the ttya with tip from a Sparc20 with an A/B splitter cable.

At some point a got a stray interrupt and the serial ports are both 

seemingly dead. Since then tip ttya says "permission denied link down"

 

Could the stray IRQ have occurred as the serial ports failed? 

(I was messing with the cables)
