the default awk located under /usr/xpg4/bin was used
at the first built.
Then downloaded the latest awk from www.gnu.org and
installed it, i decided to use the gawk which i linked
at /usr/bin/awk which was before /usr/xpg4/bin.

i will do some more tests and play with the vars on
monday because the sun server is located at my office.
