Probably cursor changes, I don't think I had programs requiring
palette changes running. I only got it once. What I saw was the
screen going black, then being messed up and then the ominous
"melting" effect where the whole screen slowly turns white beginning
at one corner, that I also got before the fixes.
I was still able to kill the Xserver via Ctrl-Alt-Backspace. So
far this has remained a singular event.
