G: limited space) because I suspect the disk on the i386 might be giving
G: me some problems.  But my i386 kernel built all right and runs fine.

Okay, it's not the disk.  Just built two identical kernels in which the only
difference was the date stamp and version.

So it's not my disk or either system.

-mcpu=v8 -mtune=supersparc, either included or excluded, doesn't matter.

Sparc kernel from the ftp site works.
One I build doesn't.

Any more information needed that I haven't already sent?
