I dunno - I've got the RAM at 224 MB and softdeps enabled too (the
OS is at 1.6.1 w/ generic kernel).  Actually, I think it'd be even
faster if I had a full-duplex NIC instead of the "big mac" (be)
card which is only half-duplex. I generally try to use dillo first
as it's quite a bit faster but it acts flakey on Sparcs (often
hangs while resolving domain names) and of course doesn't support
a number of things like javascript, ftp, etc.
