Removing the CD and typing "boot cdrom" did the same thing,
so I was booting the hard disk.

I tried copying the contents of the CD to a Zip disk using
dd, but I can't seem to boot the Zip disk either.  The
firmware tells me "The file just loaded does not appear to
be executable".
