Okay, had some time to play around once more ...
Here is what I get:
-bash-2.05b# dmesg | grep cdrom
cd0 at scsibus0 target 6 lun 0: <TOSHIBA, XM-4101TASUNSLCD, 1084> cdrom
removable
cd1 at scsibus1 target 6 lun 0: <TOSHIBA, CD-ROM XM-3401TA, 0283> cdrom
removable
-bash-2.05b# mount /dev/cd1 /cdrom2
mount: cannot open `/dev/cd1': No such file or directory
Now what is going wrong here?
Are external devices not to be found in /dev/?
