I think that i remember reading something about a driver for the sbus
   serial and parallel card recognized by the kernel as SUNW,spif (for the
   serial ports).
   Is there any ongoing work on that driver and what's the status of it?


which is the stif?  i wrote a not-yet-functional driver for the aurora
tech. 16 port card "sio16" OBP name.  it has two cd180 chips and has
16 serial ports on it...  all the code is in sys/dev/ic/cd18xx* and
sys/dev/sbus/sio16.c.  it's been a while since i worked on this and
i don't have it in any system currently (this can change but not for
a few weeks)...
