Forgive my innocence but isn't boot.net just used for netbooting?
errr, excuse me :-)
try installing a new boot... the problem is your kernel is too large
for the bootblock to be loaded. newer bootblocks solve that problem
i believe... you can do this with:
# /usr/mdec/binstall -v -b/path/to/new/boot ffs /
.mrg.
