Well, if you can find an S24 (TCX) framebuffer for an SS5 on eBay, these are
what you want. Unfortunately, they usually go for over fifty dollars, and there
is no formal support for 24-bit color on these cards with NetBSD. There is,
however, a PR regarding this which includes instructions/patches to obtain
24-bit color. I use these patches on my SS5/S24 to get 24-bit color in NetBSD,
and although a bit slow, it works. Not sure if the PR will still apply correctly
to 1.6, though!

Anyhow.. Until the S24 or the other 24-bit cards are more fully supported, this
is the way that things are :(
