That's what I've been wondering too -- I'd expect it to at least load
the first bits....  I'm guessing the miniroot filesystem structure is
either corrupt or at least unintelligible to this machine's firmware.

No, it's definitely been uncompressed -- I've double checked the
integrity of the uncompressed image as well.

I may try to netboot later tonight or tomorrow....
