According to my experience, it should be caused by an
hardware trouble : dying supply, CPU problem ...
I duno if the memory have a redondant protection, but
it should also be cause by the memory.
I have also such trouble w/ an HP workstation : this
time, it was the system/swap disk that die. But I duno
if it's your problem because that machine reboot and
can't boot (as the disk drive is missing). After some
automatic retry, the disk is running again and the
workstation was up again for some hours.
