I wasn't trying to give you a hard time, just thought maybe you need to
hand this off.  By your own admission, you don't have the time.

I just thought it might be possible for you to either hand off the
driver to someone else, or make an announcement seeking help and a list
of changes needed.

Of course, if no one else will do it, then I suppose that's a dead-end
idea.

I'm talking about places I've worked and have heard about when talking
to others in the field.

Some people will look at something like mt's responses, and based on
that worry enough about the rest to dump it.  I've been sitting there
when it happened, and no amount of reassurances would change their mind.
Of course, they do have a point in situations where the need something
NetBSD doesn't provide, and the others do.

Usually it is SMP, lack of hardware support, or just not running something
commercial they have.  But mt has come up before too.

I worry sometimes too, though over time I've become confident empirically,
and none of my current tape software needs things like position reporting.
I just miss having it is all.

If this sounded harsh, my apologies, re-reading it does sound different
than I intended.  I definitely have no bad feelings about the work
you've done.  It's just that there is only one of you...
