Andy,

If you can, get the ELC.  It's easier to access (it has a lid with
latches, as opposed to screws), and it's a faster box (somewhere between
a 1+ and a 2 -- 33MHz).  I think they came with OBPv2, as well
(okay, purists, it's not *really* OBP, but the proper acronym evades me
at the moment)
