I'm the proud owner of an SS20 with 2 CPUs - currently there is only
   one CPU working - the second is known by NetBSD but not used.
   
   In the Changelog for release 1.6 [1] there is a point
   "make SMP inter-processor-interrupts work"
   
   Does that mean, that SMP will finally work in 1.6?
   Is it functional in -current?


it means that progress has been made.  :-)  do not expect MP support
for sparc in 1.6... (but i won't rule it out either, but it does seem
extremely unlikely :-)
