Your ftpd is out of date (20010329) WRT -current (20010425). You might
try rebuilding ftpd.

...or is ftpd in 1.5.1_BETA2 not up to the source level of -current?

#
# I'm having a difficult time with ftpd on 1.5.1_BETA2/sparc, pasv mode is
# apparently whacked.
#
# Real quick test, point the NetBSD ftp at ftp://ftp.warthog.com/etc/motd and
# see if the file comes through before timing out to active mode. Then do the
# same with the "-A" flag. (You can also use a web browser and compare that
# with a non-passive ftp, like Solaris'.)
#
# Anyone know what's up with this?
