Oh, most excellent.  In that case, forget the hardware kludge, and work on
getting (or finding out if it's there already) the right knobs to
turn... Last I played with audio on an SS5 on 1.4.something, it just
wasn't working quite well enough for me.

Unfortunately, I don't have any 1.5 or -current source lying around here,
but a quick look through the source should reveal if the code/hooks
exist.  I would expect it's already there, or it should be easy enough to
add...

I'd agree.  Hopefully someone else will reply to this thread, tell us
which knobs to turn, and make me look dumb for saying "1.5 don't do it
yet" ;-)
