As requested, the PROM settings are below.  An additional note, at a
number of "errors", tty misses due to poor typing, running X11 at all,
eeprom from an su login, possibly something to do with getty and
mistyping passwords, all of them generate this message:

panic: fp_disabled: no FPU but EF bit set

followed by a dump and reboot.

I looked a little at the PROM help.  After running 

ok help word

just to look over what is there, the monitor failed to read and
execute PROM commands at all.
