FWIW, enabling ifdefed debugging output in com_obio.c shows:

modem: probe: lcr=0x03 iir=0x01
com0 at obio0 slot 0 offset 0x3002f8: ns16550a, working fifo

And com_is_console returns false, which is probably not right.
