Another thing to watch out for is the serial console.  Under 1.4.1,
certain SS2's with older openboot proms have a problem using the serial
ports as a console; I'm not sure if this has been fixed under 1.4.2.  If
you have problems when booting, you might want to check the FAQ - IIRC
there is a link to a 1.4.1 kernel there which should work with the serial
console.  You might be able to boot with the 1.4.1 kernel and hack a 1.4.2
kernel, then compile and boot under a 1.4.2 kernel.

Hopefully, it was fixed in 1.4.2, but I'm not positive about that one.
