I'm usig Panasonic CW-7502 in SPARC Classic.  The drive
recognized as below in dmesg.  It supports 4x writing.

cd0 at scsibus0 targ 6 lun 0: <MATSHITA, CD-R   CW-7502, 4.10> SCSI2 5/cdrom removable

I can read the media written with it on another machines
like i386 or macppc box.
