If you could try Robert Elz's sun4 sysinst kernel at:
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/arch/sparc/1.4.2-sun4-bootfs/netbsd.ram.gz
and let us know... If you manage to get it onto a tape, that
would be even better news :)
