Just a nit here about NetBSD's release numbering scheme: code
claiming to be version 1.4.2A is not a pre-release of 1.4.2, but
a tag used for unreleased code and which will eventually turn
into 1.4.3. The letter 'A' has been added to distinguish the
code maintained on the "netbsd-1-4" branch from the code released
as 1.4.2. (The "netbsd-1-4" branch was branched off the main
trunk slightly before the 1.4 release was made, and that branch
has been separately maintained since then, and the 1.4.1 and
1.4.2 releases have been cut from that code base.)

The code available shortly before 1.4.2 was called 1.4.2_ALPHA,
and we could have had a 1.4.2_BETA. These designations should
not be confused with 1.4.2A and 1.4.2B.
