Probably a bad nvram/clock battery.  The double-high chip with the
bar-code sticker on top is the villain.  If you don't mind playing
around a bit you can take a Dremel tool to the top part of the chip
and excavate the battery area, disconnect the old battery and solder a
new battery onto the two wires.  You can also buy a new chip from a
used-Sun reseller.  Good info is at:
