stupid me... i've figured out the problem.

it would seem my @home service doesn't like people
forcing statics. i reverted the current linux dist on the
machine to use dhcpcd and now it works. only problem
is i can't seem to find dhcpcd for Net/OpenBSD (it
says it needs linux libs to compile? guh?)
