I strongly suggest that 1.4 not be released unless it is guaranteed that
pppd works with the kernel.  Currently it does not.  This does not appear
to be a compiler problem as I rebuilt a kernel with the old cc set, and
I have rebuilt pppd as well.

PPPD -current doesn't work with a -current kernel.
