I just bought a sparc 2 for $50.00. I don't have an account on
the computer, nore do I have access to solaris install media of any sort.
I do not have a CD-ROM. I also have no access (from this computer,
which is at home) to a "real" network. I do, however, have a floppy
drive. Is it possible to boot and install NetBSD/sparc from floppy?
Couldn't find mention of installing via floppy in "INSTALLATION NOTES
for NetBSD/sparc 1.3H", which leads me to believe it doesn't work, but
thought I'd ask.
The other two possibilities I can think of are:
1.) Boot via net from my i386, does a sparc use bootp? My "net"
couldn't be any more than a null patch cord. That should work,
shouldn't it?
2.) Install NetBSD/i386 on my PC, which has a SCSI card. Move the
sparc's disk to the i386. Could the i386 install boot blocks for
the sparc?
Thanks!
