Subject: Serial ports on SPARCclassic?

I'm really unfamiliar with Sun's "A/B" serial deals. I would like
to hook up the serial end of a HP DeskJet 550C to my SPARCclassic. But
I don't have the A/B splitter cable. Do I need to make one, or is one
set of pins in the correct place already? Would that be ttya or ttyb
(or am I looking in the wrong place for the device... =) I tried a
straight through serial cable and a gender-changer (the SPARC's serial
port is the opposite gender of what I'd expect).

Once (if) I get this working, what's necessary to get lpd to talk to
the printer at 9600,8,N,1? I set up what I thought looked okay, but lpd
just collects the printouts in the spool, doesn't log any errors, but
never prints either. I'm not worrying about filters right now, I just
want to be able to print a file I've made using gs's cdj550 device.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

                                                          Will Ferry
