Hmm, just had my 4/300 die with a 'kernel panic', fail to sync the disks and
failed to dump. It also dropped junk over /usr and /home :(. Oh well, time
to get out the backups. Insert tape (QIC-150), type 'mt fsf 1' to find the
correct file and :
st0(esp0:5:0): esp0: timed out [ecb 0xf05fd90c (flags 0x103, dleft 0. stat 0)],
<state 1, nexus 0x0, phase(c, 100, p 7). resid 0, msg(q, 0,o 0) >
then :
reselect from target 5 lun 0 with no nexus; sending ABORT
esp0: identify failed
and complete lockup.
I assume that the timeout happened because the QIC is slow at finding the
next/previous file. But shouldn't the machine recover more gracefully?
Or is this related to the other problems I've been having?
J
PS. Has anyone sucessfully run Sane on NetBSD/Sparc. I can't get it to
sucessfully communicate with my HP 4p, but I'm not sure if it's Sane at
fault.
