I would really appreciate those patches going into the "patch set" you speak
of.. I try to avoid -current unless I really need it..  the tape drive would
qualify as a "need"

If you need someone to test a kernel, be glad to though.
Iv'e got an old Wangtek 150 that makes alot of noise in the boot messages.. ;)
