	I unpacked a clean 1.3 distribution, did a config GENERIC, and
ran "make depend" -- it dies with this error. Plodding along with a "make"
also runs me into the same error. Before I go hunting around a small
labyrinth of included Makefiles, does someone have a fix for this?
