   This was done because of the ESP SCSI chip hardware bug that is found in
   early sun4c models (like the SPARC 1+).  The chip cannot reliably handle
   SCSI reselects.  However, the addtion of the DMA-select workaround to the
   tree may have fixed this.

I have been running with that workaround in -current for a bit and it
seems to work fine.
