 * I missed the first part of this thread, but I initially couldn't type
 * anything on my SS10. Telneting in and doing "cat /dev/kbd" would "unlock"
 * the keyboard for me. Once I had the SS10 all updated and fully populated
 * with -current, I still had the problem. I then updated my boot blocks
 * from SunOS 4.1.4 to the latest NetBSD ones, and then my keyboard worked
 * fine. (and still does) I'm not sure *why*, but that is what I ran into.
 * I'm just happy that my SS10 Model 30 (weird viking CPU) is supported
 * now! (thanks pk!)

To sum up:

I built fresh as of 7/29.

1.2G/970729 kernel would accept input for root device, dump
device and root fstype, but then refused further input.
Something else was really wrong too, because programs started
puking left and right. I had rebuilt ld, as, gcc, config and sh
(need to add yacc and compile_et) and rebuilt a kernel. Funny,
I don't usually see this problem with binaries older than the
kernel; it's usually the other way around when this happens.

I've been running on NetBSD boot blocks (and NetBSD ffs root)
for quite a while now and have never seen this happen; usually
	everything just works.

Since I started running post 1.2, my CD-ROM has died -- has
something changed in the SCSI probe routines/cd access routines
	lately?

Anyway, I never did get to reboot sanely to a point where I could
rebuild the rest of the world.

I'm now about to fetch a snapshot and see if it works.

My keyboard works in X mode, but I don't know about the
	console (yet).
