Yes, that's what I meant. I'll build NetBSD, but will replace the files
esp.c and dma.c with those from NetBSD, hoping this will give a more
current kernel, so maybe my tty's will start working...
Kudos to everyone who pointed this out to me, unfortunately my mbox was
lost during the transition from SunOS411 to Net(Open)BSD so I can't 
personally thank you anymore. I'll keep you all posted.

Btw., does the fact that the OpenBSD kernel indeed groks SCSI on my ELC
help you in diagnosing the problem? Am I running big risks when using the
OpenBSD-kernel under NetBSD, or when using pieces of OpenBSD in a NetBSD-
kernel, or are they compatible enough still?

I get occasional hangs on the tapedrive, but the sd0 works very fine, I
have not yet tested OpenBSD-kernel with more than one SCSI-disk attached...
