I'm still running 1.0 (yeah) and occasionally get stuck disks.  Like right now.
My "exmh" is stuck trying to run "scan", and another window hung when I tried
to do a "cd Mail/inbox", so that disk (/usr/local) is hosed.  ps -alx shows

for the two stuck processes.  There's no driver feedback, so I have no idea
whether the disk is out to lunch or there's a driver problem and it's stuck
(the driver, that is).

Reboot time ...
