Hi,
I upgraded to Jun 3 sources recently, in the hope that I would be
able to use my tape and CD-ROM drives.. here is what happens:
/dev/rst0 is -rw-rw---- root.operator
the account I'm using is in the operator group, the tape is in, I
type 'tar tv' and kablooie, panic, reboot.. the dmesg output is
below..
another interesting thing is, when it boots it pauses just before it
gets to the Fujitsu disk (target 3, sd0) and complains a bit, this
didn't happen under 1.0 - and also under 1.0, I'm sure it said the
disk and tape were SCSI2 devices (SunOS did for sure..), the tape
worked fine under SunOS 4.1.1..
is any of this fixed and/or known about? (I'm making friends with
sup, will do an update soon)
I've tried Theos kernel (number 13) with much the same results.. my
config file is basically the GENERIC_SCSI3 one, I don't think I've
changed anything around yet.. (root on sd0 swap on sd0 instead of
swap generic)
