sun4e is basically sun4c on a vme card, it was targeted at the embedded
controller market. Somewhat strangely I think it used 8k pages (much
like sun4, and unlike sun4c).

SPARC v9 machines will not be sun4_anything. This might help you in
deciding how to arrange the directory tree.

The multiple kernel source directories Sun maintains are more a
reflection upon the organizational structures responsible for producing
the code, than the nature of the problem being solved. There is no
need to maintain multiple copies of the same source in different
trees.

swap was defined by SPARC v7, before that there was only ldstub. swap
is not implemented by the MB86901/LSI64801 used in the SS1, SS1+, IPC,
SLC, but not the SS2 or IPX.

                                              Gordon.
