i have attempted to submit RC2 to slightly more rigorous testing, as it
appeared after a quick test to be stable. Since the bugs seem to be
most prevalent in times of heavy disk activity, i extracted the base.tgz
file 100 times. During that time, there were 9 incidences of the error
message "crime: cpu error 4 at address 4490000" but the machine did not
crash. Full text of test follows. If there is another way you would
like this tested, please let me know.
