Well - X clients are nearly always working out-of-the-box, as long as
one has all libs - and it is always the X-Server being the tricky part
(at least it was on linux/i386, with millions of different graphic
adapters, monitors and all that stuff).

But until I can try that on my own, I cannot be of much help there, sorry.
