There is some fairly low key MIPS work being done in the FreeBSD camp
with a focus on sgimips. I have heard a developer mention intent to
work on Octane support in the mailing list, but all that they do have
currently (mostly IP22 related) is still in an early state and being
worked on by primarily one person. The opportunity may exist to work in
conjunction with FreeBSD on the NetBSD side. As they've used netbsd's
code as their basis, perhaps it would be practical.
