That's what I did. I tried netbooting the following combinations:

- custom kernel/your kernel with adaptec support and
   - no devices attached
   - one harddisk (original SGI)
   - two harddisks
   - one hdd/ internal cdrom (seems to be broken so I removed it from
the chain but left the terminator on)

   => "timedout scb" problem

- custom kernel w/o ahc support but with symbios support:

  - same combinations, always the same problems

- custom kernel w/o any scsi support

  - netbooting works and shows the prompt where I should select the
root device. I didn't manage to use nfs root with the mec0
interface. My tlp0 (plugged in the pci slot) cannot be used for
nfs root as it didn't get an ip.

- custom kernel w/o scsi and w/o mec support

   - netbooting comes to the "root selection" point but due to
the fact that I netbooted the box from mec0 even before NetBSD
knew about it it didn't work ...

While netbooting the box I didn't see any response from the mec0 to
sent packets when NetBSD was running.
Is the mec0 interface supported or is it just a stub?

I hope this helps, Hendrik
